Maintaining anational defense that is the best trained, equipped, and led force in the worldwhile honoring our promises to service members, veterans, and their families.


Working withCongress to end the draconian cuts imposed by sequestration that threaten theeffectiveness of our military and other instruments of power.


Reinforcing ourhomeland security to keep the American people safe from terrorist attacks andnatural hazards while strengthening our national resilience.


Transitioning to asustainable global security posture that combines our decisive capabilitieswith local partners and keeps pressure on al-Qa’ida, ISIL, and theiraffiliates.


Striving for aworld without nuclear weapons and ensuring nuclear materials do not fall into thehands of irresponsible states and violent non-state actors.
